(Photo taken at PICK ME UP 2012 can’t remember who the amazing artist is though)
I had a progress tutorial yesterday and despite my fears that I am not doing well apparently I am! Really well in fact. However there are some changes I need to make
Start a personal sketchbook
Experiment with colour more
Get back into printmaking
STOP STRESSING
I also realised I didn’t complete / even make a go at my Easter Goal list ! This is something I need to get on top of ! Hopefully from now on you will see a changed Abbey in terms of work wise ! Regular gallery visits, more work completed, more confidence !
One thing that won’t change though is my LIST MAKING
Creating a master piece :p
Working on lately
Page for my circus themed book
‘Big Top’
Looking at illustrators websites and blogs is no longer a motivation barker where I feel like I am never going to be good enough… it has become motivation! I can be where they are in the future I just have to put my mind to it and work hard!
GOAL
Make a mini zine of my easter over easter …. alongside doing my essay and project
The outsider … My current uni project

England by Stephen Thomas
‘The drawing features details such as Stephen’s home, the Queen’s residence, and his personal belief that Wales looks like a pig’s head’ -From Here to There
During a lesson I drew a map of UK from memory and labled it… I then came across a version done by a student and it is oddly similar.
On mine I wrote Wales was all green and and that Scotland was always white…
(will be scanning in my version shortly)

Pondgull Pond - Reminds me of the topographic map
Masayoshi Nakano
‘Nakano based his walking routes on a two-hundred-year-old map, prefering to visit streets and sites laden with the past’ - Drawing from life: the journal as art
